There only used to be 7-inch and 10.1-inch tablets, with few exceptions, but now slates with 8-inch displays are becoming quite common, both in brick-and-mortar stores as well as online.

Lenovo, as one of the fastest growing companies in the PC and consumer electronics industry, is, naturally, in the thick of it. That's what Win8China reports anyway.

The company brought a whole bunch of products to the Computex 2013 trade show, taking place in Taipei, Taiwan (June 4-8).

Among them there was the Miix 8, an 8-inch tablet running Microsoft's Windows 8 operating system.

It has an aluminum back, a rear camera, a 16:10 display (unknown resolution), 3G and "a lot of accessories like a folio and pen."

That's the full extent of what Lenovo and Microsoft were willing to share. Either they want Miix 8 to be a surprise, or they know the device isn't awesome enough yet to impress everyone
