It is powered by NVIDIA's Tegra 3 platform, of all things

It looks like it wasn't enough that AOC released a portable 15.6-inch monitor the other day. ASUS also has something unconventional that can be carried around, namely a portable all-in-one PC.

Said all-in-one computer could easily be labeled differently though, if only its screen size were not as large as it is.

Which is to say, the ASUS P1801-T Portable AiO, as the product is named, would be called a tablet if it didn't measure 18.4 inches in diagonal.

After all, its hardware revolves around none other than the Tegra 3 SoC (system-on-chip), the previous-generation mobile platform from NVIDIA.

For those who've forgotten, Tegra 3 is a quad-core ARM processor with an integrated 12-core GPU (graphics processing unit).

That said, the ASUS P1801-T Portable AiO boasts an LCD with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) and 10-point multi-touch support.

The LCD is of the IPS variety (in-plane switching), with wide viewing angles, both horizontal and vertical, of 178 degrees.

Furthermore, ASUS has included stereo speakers (ASUS SonicMaster audio technology) and support for wireless connections to PCs, Macs and any media streaming devices that support Android remote desktop software.

Speaking of which, the ASUS P1801-T Portable AiO runs the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system and, of course, allows owners to buy and download however many apps, games, ebooks, songs etc. they wish from the Google Play store (there are around 700,000 at the moment).

Not only that, but the built-in battery of the AiO (or should we say oversized Android tablet) can last for up to 5 hours on a single charge, while playing Full HD videos even.

Finally, the design of the AiO makes the comparison to an oversized tablet even more pertinent. Still, the possibility of connecting a keyboard and mouse to it, via a USB adapter, at least balances out the traits.

Sadly, the price of the ASUS P1801-T Portable AiO was not included in the official announcement.
