Great news for ZUK fans, as the Chinese company plans to launch another high-end smartphone powered by Android OS. The so-called ZUK Edge is likely to make its debut on the market by the end of the year, though an exact release date has yet to be announced.

A Lenovo exec has confirmed that the ZUK Edge will be unveiled as early as next week, but we're still waiting for specific details on the phone's actual launch day.

ZUK, the Lenovo wholly-owned company, is going to introduce the Edge in China, but we don't rule out the availability of the smartphone in other Asian countries.

Since the ZUK Edge has already been certified at TENAA, the Chinese regulatory commission, we already know quite a bit of information about its innards.

An almost bezel-less design outside and a powerful hardware inside

According to the listing at TENAA, ZUK Edge is supposed to be equipped with a powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, coupled with an Adreno 530 graphics processing unit, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. There's no mention of microSD card slot for memory expansion yet.

We also know the smartphone should sport a 5.5-inch display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. ZUK Edge comes with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash, and a secondary 8-megapixel camera in the front.

It's also worth mentioning the smartphone will ship with the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system right out of the box, and that it will be powered by a 3,000 mAh battery inside, which probably supports Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology.

Courtesy to ZUK's officials, we also know what the phone will look like. A picture of the ZUK Edge has been posted on Weibo, the Chinese alternative to Facebook. The smartphone features an almost bezel-less display and a unibody design, but we have yet to learn the material used by ZUK.
