With CES 2016 trade fair just around the corner, many handset makers are teasing their new products that haven't been revealed yet.

Lenovo confirmed the upcoming launch of its K4 Note phablet while ZTE is expected to unveil its first flagship smartphone for 2016.

The Chinese company published a teaser on Weibo that confirms a launch event for January 5. Sadly, ZTE does not mention what device will be launched next week, but rumor has it the Nubia Z11 might be announced.

If these rumors prove to be accurate, then ZTE Nubia Z11 might be the first smartphone announced in 2016 to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset.

Lots of companies already confirmed they plan to include the powerful chip inside their smartphones, but neither introduced their products yet.

Xiaomi, Samsung, LG and Sony Mobile are all expected to announce new flagship smartphones powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipset.

Let's hope for Marshmallow at launch

Even though ZTE Nubia Z11 hasn't been officially confirmed yet, we know quite a few things about the phone's technical specification.

For starters, the smartphone's powerful processor will be coupled with an Adreno 530 graphics processing unit and no less than 4GB of RAM.

At the back, the Nubia Z11 is likely to boast an impressive 20.7-megapixel camera with Sony sensor, whereas on the back side there should be a no less impressive 13-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

The flagship smartphone comes with a 5.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

The rumor mill claims ZTE Nubia Z11 will come in three variations, based on the amount of storage: 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB.

No word on whether or not ZTE will include Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system inside the Nubia Z11, or it will come later as an upgrade.
