ZTE fans will be pleased to know that the Chinese handset maker has just introduced the Axon Max, a high-end phablet the company confirmed back in October.

We reported a few months ago that ZTE Axon Max is a real beast packing a massive 6-inch display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

However, it turns out the Axon Max's 6-inch capacitive touchscreen display supports full HD (1080p) resolution instead, not Quad HD.

Even though some of you might be disappointed by that, keep in mind that it will probably keep the price within the lower bracket.

According to a new report, ZTE announced the Axon Max will be available for purchase in China for only 2,999 yuan outright, which is about $460 or €425. That's a decent price considering the phone's specs and looks.

Speaking of which, ZTE Axon Max features a metal frame and a sleek body that looks like brushed aluminum. Even though it's quite large due to its 6-inch display, users should not have any issues handling this beast.

It won't pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor

Under the hood, the Axon Max employs the services of a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, complemented by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

At the back, the phablet boasts a 16-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and 4K video recording, whereas in the front there's a secondary no less impressive 13-megapixel selfie camera.

ZTE Axon Max packs a fingerprint scanner on the back, right below the LED flash, and drains battery from a massive 4,140 mAh battery.

Last but not least, the smartphone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, but we suspect ZTE will provide a Marshmallow update next year.
