ZTE is one of the companies that haven't missed a Mobile World Congress (MWC) trade fair in a while, and 2017 is no exception. The Chinese handset maker introduced a duo of budget-friendly smartphones which will be launched in the coming months, the Blade V8 Mini and Blade V8 Lite.

According to CNET, both ZTE smartphones will be launched on the market this spring, but they won't be released in the United States, or at least not for the time being. The Blade V8 Mini will be made available in Asia Pacific and Europe, whereas the Blade V8 Lite will first hit the shelves in Germany, Italy and Spain.

Although they haven't been priced yet, judging by their list of specs, both ZTE smartphones are likely to be competitively priced. Of the two, the ZTE Blade V8 Mini seems to be the better phone, but let's take a look at what both devices have to offer in terms of specs.

First of all, it's worth mentioning both ZTE handsets ship with Android 7.0 Nougat operating system right out of the box. Also, they both feature dual-SIM support and 4G LTE.

However, the Blade V8 Mini comes with a dual-lens camera setup on the back, comprised of 13MP and 2MP camera, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel selfie camera.

It also sports a 5-inch display that supports HD (720p) resolution. On the inside, ZTE Blade V8 Mini packs a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB expandable memory.

A rear-mounted fingerprint sensor is included as well, along with a decent 2,800 mAh battery, which hasn't been rated by the manufacturer yet.

On the other hand, the ZTE Blade V8 Lite comes with a single-lens 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a secondary 5-megapixel camera in the front.

It packs a modest 1.4GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card).

The Blade V8 Lite features a similar 5-inch HD display, a fingerprint reader on the back, and a smaller 2,500 mAh battery inside.
