YouTube has been working on improving its Android application for some time now, with the company constantly bringing updates. Now, we've just found out that YouTube for Android could get a redesigned comment UI, with the option to sort comments in multiple ways.

The desktop version of YouTube comes with multiple ways in which users can sort comments and tools for liking or disliking comments. The Android version of YouTube doesn’t have those features, and it seems that the company might actually implement them in the near future.

YouTube is testing ways in which users can like or dislike comments, and it appears that some users are already seeing the changes, according to Android Police. The app now comes with a like and a dislike button under each comment, as well as an indicator of how many replies the comment received and an option to expand and read replies on a separate page.

YouTube for Android will come with options for sorting comments

YouTube has added a settings button that allows users to switch the sorting method and see the newest and top comments first. This would enable users to read comments faster and sort out replies that may be considered offensive.

The new features seem to be part of a server-side test, which means that there’s no way to trigger them. However, it shouldn’t be long before the features start rolling out to all users of YouTube’s Android app.

Aside from this, earlier this year, YouTube’s app for Android was said to get new search filters for videos so that users could narrow down search results and find videos faster. The filters included options to allow users to filter results by rating, relevance, and view count.

YouTube is also said to implement live streaming from mobile devices so that users would be able to watch live events from all over the world, as is the case with several social network apps, such as Facebook.
