The option has become somewhat of a necessity for social networks, and it seems that YouTube will be implementing it in its mobile application really soon.
The live streaming service on mobile is quite useful, especially since it allows users to watch live events from all over the world, without using a computer or laptop. For this reason specifically, YouTube has announced that it will be implementing live streaming in its mobile application quite soon.
The company hasn’t provided a timeframe for when the service will be available to users on mobile devices, but we do hope that it’ll arrive sooner rather than later. YouTube has been offering the live streaming service since 2011, and this year, it was the first online service to broadcast a 360-degree live stream during Coachella.
Users will be able to broadcast content live and search for videos
YouTube mobile live streaming will be implemented directly inside the YouTube mobile app while a red button on the screen will allow users to instantly start broadcasting content live to their fans and chat in near real time.
The feature will come with the same options as the desktop version, users will be able to search for videos, find recommendations and playlists or protect content from unauthorized access.
YouTube’s live streaming feature will compete directly against Periscope and even Facebook Live, which has become quite popular since its launch.
YouTube has been working hard to improve its mobile application or at least on Android. Recently, the company implemented new search options on the Android version of the app, in order to bring its functionality to the level of its desktop version.
Back in November last year, Google even launched YouTube Music application for Android and iOS, which allowed users to listen to music with the phone screen off or while navigating in another application.
