14 DAY TRIAL // Huawei and Porsche introduced the exclusive Design Mate 9 back in November, but information about the smartphone's availability was scarce.
Suddenly, the premium smartphone popped up on Porsche's website, and it's not just listed there, but you can also pre-order it.
However, the Porsche Design Mate 9 won't come cheap. As some of you probably know by now, the smartphone has been priced at €1395, and that's exactly how much it costs to pre-order one.
Furthermore, Porsche has announced the smartphone will ship on January 31, so customers who pre-order it should receive it next week. The Design Mate 9 is a slightly different device than the standard Huawei Mate 9 that went on sale earlier this month.
For starters, it comes with a 5.5-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display that features True Curve Design and black curved Corning Gorilla Glass coating. The rest of the phone's body is made of graphite brushed metal, which gives it a stylish, premium look.
Another important improvement is the fact that it comes with 256GB of storage inside. However, the Porsche Design Mate 9 doesn't include microSD card slot for memory expansion, so that's all you get.
The phone is powered by a Huawei's Kirin 960 processor, which is coupled with 6GB of RAM. On the back, the premium Mate 9 boasts an impressive Leica dual-camera setup featuring a 12-megapixel RGB snapper and a secondary 20-megapixel monochrome sensor, as well as Hybrid Zoom.
Porsche Design Mate 9 ships with Android 7.0 Nougat on board, just like its much cheaper counterpart. It also includes a smart touch fingerprint sensor and a generous 4,000 mAh battery with fast charging (58% in 30 minutes).
In the sale package, buyers will find a first class customized leather smart cover, a Porsche Design Premium Stereo headset, a USB Type-C cable, and two charger-plugs (UK and EU).
