Google released the final version of its latest Android OS quite a while ago and smartphone manufacturers are working hard on updates that will be made available to end users soon. A presentation slide shows when Sony smartphones will be getting the update to Android 7.0 Nougat.

The slide leaked over at Xperia Blog and it was part of a presentation that Sony Slovakia recently held. It seems that Xperia X Performance and Xperia XZ will be the first Sony smartphones to receive the update to Android 7.0 Nougat, sometime in October.

Xperia X Performance was announced back in February and it’s one of the most powerful smartphones in the Xperia X line. It runs on a Snapdragon 820 SoC and comes with 3GB of RAM and a 23MP rear camera. The smartphone was also part of the Android 7.0 Nougat Beta Testing Program and received Preview versions of the latest Android OS version.

Xperia XZ was announced not long ago, on September 1 during IFA 2016. The smartphone also runs SD820 and has 3GB of RAM, as well as a powerful 23MP rear camera. It will be made available in the US at the start of October and will carry a price tag of around $700.

Xperia XA and Xperia Ultra will receive Android 7.0 update in early 2017

Xperia X and Xperia X Compact will be the next two smartphones to receive Android 7.0 Nougat updates around November this year. The Xperia X Compact comes with SD650 SoC and has 3GB of RAM, just like the Xperia X.

The third update cycle is scheduled for December, and Xperia Z5 series, Z3+ and the Z4 tablet are the devices that will be receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat during the last month of this year. The forth update cycle will take place sometime in early 2017, when Xperia XA and Xperia Ultra will get updated to the latest Android OS version.
