Indian OEM XOLO is about to debut its new Black series of smartphones in India. Lava Mobile's subrand has already confirmed that its first Black smartphone will be launched in the country this month.

Unfortunately, we only know a few details about the upcoming device, which is expected to be priced under Rs 15,000 in order to remain competitive on the Indian market.

However, we do know that XOLO Black demos will only be available at Vodafone Stores since the Indian handset maker has just strike a deal with the major carrier.

The companies have teamed up to offer customers who purchase the Black smartphone or just want to try it out, a few incentives.

Apart from the fact that customers will be able to take the smartphone for a spin at Vodafone stores, the carrier also announced that those who purchase it will also receive free 1GB data per month and unlimited music content download with Vodafone Music app for 2 months.

“While Online Only is a great strategy to test waters in a new market with a new model, this partnership will allow XOLO to tap into Vodafone’s brick-and-mortar retail presence.

Exclusive demos and in-store experience coupled with additional DATA offers will empower our customers with a great value proposition and help them remain connected always,” said Vivek Mathur, Chief Commercial Officer, Vodafone India.

The smartphone will be available for purchase online too

XOLO Black will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box and XOLO's new Hive 1.5 UI (user interface).

We also know that the smartphone will feature twin-cameras on the back and that it will be available for purchase through online retailer Flipkart as well.

“Typically, for ‘online-only’ products, customers miss out on the opportunity to touch and try the product before the purchase. They have to just depend on the information available online and take a purchase decision basis that.

It is for the first time that a brand is giving customers the opportunity to see and experience the product and make an informed choice, before making a purchase online,” added Sunil Raina, Business Head, XOLO.
