14 DAY TRIAL // Xiaomi is working on an exciting new smartphone, the Mi Note 2, which apparently will be announced officially on October 25 in China, according to GizmoChina. The smartphone has leaked in multiple images and some specs have been revealed over the past few weeks.
The latest information points to a 5.7-inch QHD curved AMOLED display and a bezel-less design. The smartphone could also come with LG’s curved OLED display, similar to the Galaxy S7 edge.
The device is said to have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage for the regular version, while the premium variant could boast 6GB of RAM and 128GB or even 256GB of internal storage. Both phones might have a dual camera setup on the back, with 16MP sensors, and run 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 821 chipsets, coupled with Adreno 530 graphics processing units.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 could come with a 4,000mAh fast charging battery
Leaked images have shown that the rear camera setup will come with LED flash and the sensors will be placed one on top of the other, similar to the iPhone 7 Plus. Battery capacity could reach 4,000mAh with Qualcomm’s fast charging feature. In addition, the phone is said to be just 6.5mm thick.
The Mi Note 2 appears to come with multiple improvements compared to its predecessor, which launched last year and came with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor and 4GB of RAM. It also had a 5.7-inch display and 64GB of memory, along with a 13MP Sony camera and a 4MP sensor in the front for snapping selfies and conducting video calls.
Xiaomi is also working on a mid-range phone, the Xiaomi Meri, which is said to feature a 5.5-inch display and possibly 3GB of RAM. It remains to be seen when the company will announce this phone as well.
Rumors say that the Mi Note 2 could be made available for about $600, but the price will surely be announced during the October 25 unveiling event in China.
