14 DAY TRIAL // One of the largest Chinese handset makers, Xiaomi, is about to launch another mid-range Android smartphone, the Redmi Note 2 Pro.
Even though the smartphone was not yet official announced, we have quite a few details about the upcoming device, which is supposed to arrive on the market by the end of the year.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro is already listed at TENAA, the Chinese regulatory commission, which means it's very close to being unveiled.
Along with the listing of its specs, we also got a new set of official pictures showing the phone's metal body and the fingerprint scanner on the back cover.
Previous information about the Redmi Note 2 Pro suggested that Xiaomi's mid-range smartphone would feature a metal body and fingerprint scanner, but thanks to the new pictures appearing at TENAA, we know for sure that these features will be part of the phone.
A more than decent mid-range smartphone
Xiaomi fans anxious to grab the new handset will be pleased to know that the Redmi Note 2 Pro is pretty much similar to the Redmi Note 2 with two exceptions that we mentioned earlier.
The standard version, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 does not come with a fingerprint scanner and features a plastic body, so these are the only differences between the two devices.
Those unaware of the Redmi Note 2 specs might want to know that the smartphone sports a 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display with full HD (1080p) resolution, and a 13-megapixel camera on the back.
It also packs a 64-bit 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor inside, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. There's a chance that Xiaomi will launch a 3GB model as well, but the information has yet to be confirmed.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro should come preloaded with Android Lollipop operating system right out of the box. Last but not least, the phone is rumored to cost around $170 outright though the price might be slightly higher in countries other than China.
