After multiple leaked images and specifications, Xiaomi finally unveiled the Mi Note 2 during an event held in Beijing, China. The smartphone is the successor to Xiaomi Mi Note and comes with a sleek dual-curved display, resembling the screen on the Galaxy Note 7.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 comes with a 5.7-inch 3D QLED display, which apparently has a 77.2% screen-to-body ratio. In addition, the back of the phone has a dual-curved panel and glass finish. The device is made out of aluminum and will be made available in two color variants, Piano Black or Glacier Silver.

The phone appears to run the latest Qualcomm processor, a 64-bit Snapdragon 821 quad-core unit, accompanied by an Adreno 530 graphics processing unit and coupled with 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM. Moreover, internal memory differs on the two variants, as they would come with either 64GB or 128GB of storage.

When it comes to photography capabilities, the handset offers a 22.56MP rear camera with Sony IMX318 sensor, electronic image stabilization, f/2.0 aperture, 4K video recording and dual-LED flash. It also has a dedicated 3-axis gyroscope in the main camera to help improve video stabilization.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has support for 37 bands worldwide

The 8MP shooter in the front has IMX268 Exmor RS Sensor and f/2.0 aperture, aside from autofocus. The smartphone supports an impressive number of 37 global networks, 4G LTE+ with up to 600Mbps downloads speeds, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and USB Type-C port. It draws power from a 4,070mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.

The Mi Note 2 will feature NFC support for mobile payments and will include Qualcomm’s Aqstic audio DAC with support for 192kHZ/24-bit playback. The smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with custom MIUI 8 UI on top.

Pricing and availability details were also revealed, so we now know that the smartphone will go on sale later this week in China for about $413 for the variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The high-end model will cost about $487 and pack 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. A global version will be made available with support for 600 mbps 4G+ and 37 different bands worldwide for $516.
