14 DAY TRIAL // Xiaomi has just announced a new phone launch event that will take place on November 24 at China National Convention Center.
According to the invitation, Xiaomi Mi fans will be able to purchase entrance tickets for this event for 200 yuan, which is about $31. The number of tickets available to fans is limited to 500.
Unfortunately, Xiaomi did not provide any details on what smartphone will be announced next week. However, the invitation shows the back side of a Mi phone, which is why we believe the company plans to launch another smartphone.
Chances are Xiaomi will introduce its next flagship smartphone, the Mi5, which is supposed to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor inside.
Although the smartphone might not be available right away, it shouldn't take more than a few weeks for Xiaomi Mi5 to hit shelves.
It's also worth mentioning that the upcoming smartphone will be launched in China, so there's no telling when it will be rolled out in other countries.
Quad HD display and Android 6.0 Marshmallow onboard
Xiaomi Mi5 recently leaked in benchmarks and the mentioned specs list includes a 5.2-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) capacitive touchscreen display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass coating.
Furthermore, the smartphone is said to pack a 16-megapixel photo snapper on the back side and a no-less-impressive 13-megapixel selfie camera in the front.
As mentioned earlier, the Mi5 will be equipped with a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, an Adreno 530 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.
The benchmarks also mention that the flagship smartphone will come preloaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box, along with MIUI 7 on top of it.
Last but not least, Xiaomi Mi5 is rumored to drain energy from a 3,000 mAh battery, which should feature Quick Charge support.
