But it comes with full HD (1080p) display instead of Quad HD

Three of the most anticipated flagship smartphones have been recently revealed at MWC 2016: LG G5, Samsung Galaxy S7 and Xiaomi Mi5.

Although all three devices are powered by Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 820 processor, it looks like they have scored very differently when put to the test through various benchmarks.

The reason might be the fact that they are slightly different when it comes to the rest of the specs, and that could have influenced the scores.

We already reported that Samsung Galaxy S7 powered by Exynos 8890 processor has been beaten by the LG G5 equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 CPU.

But Xiaomi's Mi5 seems to have beaten both flagships in AnTuTu, at least that's what the company claims. A screenshot provided by the Chinese handset maker shows the Mi5 scored 142,084 points in AnTuTu 6.0, which is a lot higher than the other two smartphones.

LG G5 scored a little above 130,000 while the Exynos-powered Samsung Galaxy S7 achieved 116,000 points in AnTuTu benchmark.

More elaborate test could prove otherwise

Xiaomi Mi5 has the same 2.15GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor inside as the LG G5, and packs 4GB of Ram, so how is this even possible?

Well, one of the reasons Mi5 seems to have scored higher than the other two devices is the fact that it comes with a Full HD (1080p) display instead of a Quad HD one. Aside from that, no other piece of hardware should influence the scores in such an obvious manner.

Naturally, these preliminary benchmarks provided by the companies that launched these devices or from other sources might be contradicted in real life use.

Until more elaborate tests prove that these benchmarks aren't accurate, the Xiaomi Mi5 seems to have taken the crown for the most powerful Android smartphone on the market, at least when it comes to performance in AnTuTu.
