Chinese company Xiaomi is expected to launch its next flagship smartphone next month, previous rumors coming from various sources claimed.

Today, Xiaomi confirmed it has already scheduled a press event on February 24 where the Mi5 will be officially unveiled. No additional details on the matter have been disclosed, but Xiaomi's official promised more info on ticket sales and rules will be offered on January 26.

Due to high-demand, Xiaomi sells a large number of tickets that allows fans to participate to the company's main events like the one that will take place in China later next month.

As mentioned earlier, more details on the cost of these tickets and how customers will be able to acquire them will be revealed on Tuesday, January 26.

The Mi5 will be Xiaomi's new flagship smartphone in a very long time. The last high-end handset launched by the Chinese company dates from August 2014 (Xiaomi Mi4).

It looks like that Xiaomi wanted to avoid launching a flagship smartphone equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor inside, since many customers have been complaining about overheating issues.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 CPU and 4GB RAM

Other factors might have convinced Xiaomi to wait until Q1 2016 to launch its next flagship smartphone like Qualcomm's next powerful chipset, the Snapdragon 820, which will be commercially available starting this year.

That being said, Xiaomi fans are probably wondering what specs the Chinese company might include so that the Mi5 will stand out from other flagship smartphones.

According to the latest rumors, Xiaomi Mi5 will boast a 5.2-inch display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution, a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera, and an 8-megapixel camera in the front.

Also, the Mi5 has been confirmed to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, paired with an Adreno 530 graphics processing unit and 4GB of RAM. The smartphone will be powered by a 3,600 mAh battery and will include a fingerprint sensor.
