It looks like Microsoft and Xiaomi have a solid partnership since the release of Windows 10 Mobile ROM for the Mi4. However, the collaboration between the two companies might extend to more devices in the coming months.

If you don't recall, we reported a few weeks ago that a handful of Xiaomi and OnePlus smartphones would be offered Windows 10 Mobile ROMs.

One of the smartphones that should receive a Windows 10 Mobile ROM is the Xiaomi Mi5, which hasn't yet been released on the market but should hit shelves by April.

OnePlus 2 and OnePlus 3 are rumored to be offered Windows 10 Mobile ROMs as well, but no time frame for their release has been provided yet.

The good news is Mi5 might not be the only Xiaomi smartphone to be compatible with Windows 10 Mobile. The folks over at MicrosoftInsider report that a Xiaomi Mi Note phablet running Windows 10 Mobile has been spotted on Microsoft official Weibo account.

Microsoft China posted an advert that announces the launch of Xiaomi Mi Note with Windows 10 Mobile. It also shows the device's startup screen with features like Cortana.

A mid-range smartphone equipped with a rather old chipset

Xiaomi Mi Note is not an old smartphone though it does come with an obsolete Qualcomm chipset inside. The phablet was launched on the market back in January 2015 with Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system onboard, but it's expected to receive a Marshmallow upgrade this year.

Hardware-wise, the smartphone is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, coupled with an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

The Mi Note packs either 16GB or 64GB of internal memory, which can't be expanded since the smartphone lacks microSD card slot.

Also, Xiaomi's mid-range handset sports a larger 5.7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

There's also a 13-megapixel camera on the back that features autofocus, dual-LED flash and 4K video recording, as well as a secondary 4-UltraPixel camera in the front.

Xiaomi Mi Note is powered by a large 3,000 mAh non-removable battery and includes dual-SIM and 4G LTE support, along with microUSB 2.0, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS with AGPS and GLONASS.
