Xiaomi released its Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship this year, and this is the most powerful device the company has ever launched. The tablet was well received on the market, but besides it, the Chinese company also released the largest smartphone in its portfolio. Now, it seems that a new variant of the Xiaomi Mi Max might be coming to the market soon.

Xiaomi Mi Max debuted earlier this year, and it boasted a really big display that reached the borders of tablet territory. Thus, the smartphone came with a 6.44-inch FullHD display, which is larger than that on the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro. At its core, it packed a Snapdragon 650 or 652 64-bit octa-core Soc and 3GB or 4GB of RAM, depending on the variant.

Internal storage reached 32GB, 64GB or 128GB, and the phablet came with a 4,850mAh battery. It also had a 16MP rear camera on the back and 5MP on the front with 85-degree wide-angle lens. It ran Android Marshmallow 6.0 out of the box with MIUI 8 on top, which was launched at the same time as the phablet.

The 2GB variant of the Xiaomi Mi Max will have 16GB of internal storage

A 2GB variant of the Xiaomi Mi Max has surfaced online, and a screenshot of specs shows some details of the device, according to Android Headlines. The 2GB variant of the phablet seems to have approximately the same features as the previously released models. It appears to run Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 with MIUI 7.3 on top.

The 2GB variant of the Xiaomi Mi Max could come with 16GB of internal storage, which would certainly make it even more competitive when it comes to pricing.

There’s no indication of whether and when the phablet will be released, but considering that the Mi Max performed quite well on the market, Xiaomi is expected to unveil this variant soon enough.
