14 DAY TRIAL // Recently, Xiaomi held an event in Beijing to announce a new and exciting flagship, the Mi 6. But over the past few weeks, leaks have pointed to the fact that the Chinese company was also working on a Plus variant, one that wasn’t unveiled yesterday.
Xiaomi hasn’t given up on plans to announce the new Mi 6 Plus variant, as the model was recently certified in China and could arrive in the next two months, according to an industry analyst. The Plus version will have 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, just like on the higher-end model of the Mi 6. The Mi 6 Plus will also be offered in variants with 64GB or 128GB of internal storage.
The smartphone is expected to feature a larger display compared to the Mi 6, but the design of the Plus variant will be the same as on the standard smartphone that was announced yesterday. The Mi 6 Plus is rumored to come with a 5.7-inch Full HD or QHD screen, and run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core CPU, together with Adreno 540 graphics processing unit.

The Mi 6 Plus could feature a dual-camera setup on the back with two Sony IMX362 12MP cameras and an 8MP front shooter. Android Nougat with MIUI 8 OS on top will most certainly run on the new smartphone, while battery capacity could reach 4,500mAh.
The fingerprint scanner will most likely be featured on the front of the smartphone, while the device will come with two capacitive buttons, just like on the Mi 6.
The Mi 6 Plus could also lack a 3.5mm headphone jack, like the Mi 6, while the price of the upcoming variant will surely be higher than the $435 price tag for the higher-end Mi 6 variant with 128GB of internal storage, 6GB of RAM, and ceramic back panel.
