Many Xiaomi fans are happy with the company’s new portfolio of smartphones, especially the flagship the Chinese OEM launched not long ago, the Mi 5.

Xiaomi Mi 5 is one of the most powerful and cheapest flagship smartphones available on the market. The handset is now selling worldwide, but as expected, Xiaomi is mainly targeting the Chinese market with the top-tier device.

The good news for Xiaomi fans who haven’t yet purchased the Mi 5 is that the company has another powerful smartphone in the pipeline.

According to a new report coming from GizmoChina, an unannounced Xiaomi Max has just leaked online, along with some of its specs.

Unfortunately, not many details about the Xiaomi Max are known at the moment. Rumor has it that the phablet will boast a huge 6.4-inch capacitive touchscreen display, which will probably support full HD (1080p) resolution.

A huge display and a powerful chipset

The front panel of the device has been recently caught on camera in China, and it’s really gigantic. The bezels are thin enough to give users the impression of an edge-to-edge smartphone.

Sources familiar with Xiaomi’s plans also claim that the Xiaomi Max will feature a full metal body and that it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. The powerful processor will probably be coupled with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM, as well as an Adreno 530 graphics processing unit.

A fingerprint sensor will be included as well, but not on the front since the smartphone does not seem to feature a physical Home button. The fingerprint sensor will most likely be added on the battery cover, right below the rear camera, which we know nothing of at the moment.

These are all the details about Xiaomi Max’s specs, but one more piece of information has been leaked concerning smartphone’s availability.

The same sources that have leaked info on the phone’s hardware configuration also claim the Max will be announced sometime in May. It’s unclear whether or not the phablet will hit shelves around the same time, but we know for sure it will be launched in China.
