14 DAY TRIAL // Feral Interactive, the UK-based video game publisher, announced that they're working on porting the upcoming XCOM 2: War of the Chosen expansion to the very popular, award-winning XCOM 2 game to Linux, SteamOS, and macOS platforms.
XCOM 2: War of the Chosen is the new DLC (downloadable content) for XCOM 2 that was unveiled by Firaxis Games at PC Gaming Show 2017. The expansion adds new content to the original game, which you'll have to own to play this DLC, including new factions, three powerful new soldier classes, as well as new alien and ADVENT threats.
It will also expand your original XCOM 2 installation with new environments and mission objectives, an enhanced strategy layer, greater customization and replayability, new regular one-shot community challenges, and many other customization options for soldiers, including filters, text and backgrounds.
XCOM 2: War of the Chosen launches August 29, 2017
XCOM 2: War of the Chosen is currently slated for release on August 29, 2017, and will officially be supported by Firaxis Games only on Microsoft Windows platforms. However, shortly after the Windows release, Feral Interactive will port the game to Linux, SteamOS, and macOS operating systems.
"War of the Chosen, the expansion to 2016 strategy game of the year XCOM 2, will be released for macOS and Linux shortly after Windows," reveals Feral Interactive in their latest announcement. "Please note, you must own XCOM 2 in order to play the expansion."
During the show, creative director Jake Solomon has revealed the fact that XCOM 2: War of the Chosen will be twice the size of any previous XCOM 2 DLC. As for the system requirements, we believe that the expansion will run smoothly on the same hardware that you're using right now to play XCOM 2.
