XCOM 2 offers a great strategy experience for those who want to rid the Earth of the alien overlords, and the development team at Firaxis is planning to enhance the experience with a range of new cosmetic options, with the coming Anarchy's Children downloadable content pack set to be delivered on March 17.

The DLC is included in the Reinforcement Pack that the company has been selling, which also covers another two pieces of extra content, and those who want to pick it up separately will have to pay 4.99 dollars or Euro.

The official announcement explains that gamers will be able to get access to more than 100 new customization options for soldiers. Moreover, players will be able to tweak elements including armor, helmets, masks, face paints and lower face items.

Firaxis states, "Your soldiers will strike fear into ADVENT and its alien overlords with menacing tactical styles that run the gamut from post-apocalyptic to the downright deranged."

Some gamers will be disappointed that Anarchy's Children does not introduce any kind of new gameplay-focused content to XCOM 2, but the individuality of the various soldiers has proven a big hit with the community, and new options to make each character feel unique will certainly be welcomed by some fans.

Firaxis is also working on a big patch

The developers are not willing to offer any details about the bugs they are planning to fix or about the kinds of balance changes that they are making, but they say that more specifics about a big update are coming very soon and that it should also introduce significant improvements in performance.

Some players have reported issues with XCOM 2, and the game also features some inexplicable pauses and long loading times for almost all those who play it.

Firaxis has deployed a hotfix, but the impact so far has been minimal, and it's a good idea to deliver a solid patch to fix problems before Anarchy's Children arrives or, at the latest, at the same time as the DLC.

The development team might also significantly change the difficulty level of XCOM 2, and Jake Solomon, who led the game creation process, has admitted that he might have overreacted when he pushed the studio to make the experience more difficult during the final months of work.

Despite its problems, the title offers a superb turn-based strategy experience, especially for those gamers who are ready to play it on Ironman.
