The team at Microsoft in charge of the Xbox One is announcing that it is launching a new Spring Sale period associated with the home console, which will allow gamers to pick up the device for just 299 dollars or Euro for a limited period of time.

According to the blog announcement from Larry Hryb, aka Major Nelson, the main community liaison of the company, those interested will be able to get access to bundles that feature video games like the recently launched The Division, the upcoming Quantum Break or the package that allows players to choose from a number of older titles.

The offer starts on March 20 and only a limited number of retailers in the United States take part.

Microsoft adds, “starting on March 22 for one week only you can get great deals on digital Xbox games, PC games and Movies and TV from the Xbox Store.  Save up to 40 to 60 percent off on games, with some at more than 60 percent off.”

Featured video games include Fallout 4, Halo 5, Black Ops III, Far Cry Primal, Rainbow 6 Siege and another 150 and gamers can also pick up PC titles and access to movie and TVC shows like The Martian, Straight Outta Compton, Sicario, Better Call Saul, and more.

More information about coming deals will be offered on the official site of the Spring Sale for the Xbox One.

Microsoft says it is not planning a permanent price cut for the home console

According to the platform holder, it wants to convince potential customers that the Xbox One offers the best console experience on the market and its long-term plan is to continue to expand its features via firmware updates while integrating it even further with the Windows 10 gaming ecosystem.

The temporary price cut might draw more gamers to the device, but in the long run the company will need to lower the price to 299 dollars or Euro permanently if it plans to catch up to the PlayStation 4.

The Sony device is over the 36 million units mark at the moment and might get another boost when the PlayStation VR tech launches in the fall and when the major Uncharted 4 exclusive arrives in May.

Microsoft has recently said that it is open to the idea of integrating cross-platform play into the feature set of the Xbox One and Sony says that it is also considering the idea, but it might take time to work out a business deal.
