The team at Microsoft in charge of the Xbox One is preparing to introduce an entirely new user interface to the home console and the company wants players to be prepared for the changes that are coming so that they can get the best experience from day one.

A new video features both community liaison Larry Hryb, aka Major Nelson, and Richard Irving, the group manager for the device, talking about the new features and the way the company has designed them to enhance the way the home console is used.

The new Xbox One experience will include a brand new home system, integration for Cortana features that the company has also introduced in other devices (but only for those who own a Kinect motion tracking system), a quick menu access system, and a new take on the community options.

The update is designed to also better integrate the device into the wider Microsoft ecosystem, especially given the impending launch of the new Windows 10 operating system on the PC.

At the moment, the company is not saying when the new Xbox One experience will be introduced exactly, and it will probably be initially delivered for those who are part of the Preview program.

Microsoft is preparing to dominate the coming months and the holiday season

The changes made to the user interface of the Xbox One are designed to make the home console more attractive to players, as the company aims to implement a number of other tweaks designed to increase sales.

The temporary price cut from the start of 2015 is now officially permanent and gamers can also pick up a new Limited Edition, which is designed to celebrate the launch of Forza Motorsport 6.

Microsoft has also been talking a lot about Halo 5: Guardians, showing both the multiplayer mode Warzone and the single-player campaign at E3 2015.

The Xbox One has only managed to sell more units than the PlayStation 4 from Sony during one month of the year in the United States.

The PS4 is also leading worldwide when it comes to sales, and the home console is also getting a new version that will use less energy and will weigh less.

Sony has ruled out the idea of cutting the price for the moment, but it wants to find other ways to offer value to gamers.
