The team at Microsoft in charge of the Xbox One is announcing that the March firmware update for the home console is now rolling out for users and that a separate one is also arriving for the Xbox One app on Windows 10 PCs.

The announcement on the blog of Larry Hryb, aka Major Nelson, says that users will get access to the features that were presented earlier in the month but that the company also found time to introduce three new tweaks based on feedback.

The firmware update improves the thumbstick precision on the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller, with Microsoft saying that it has a new method that "measures and uses the distance of the thumbstick position relative to the center focus point of the thumbstick base, instead of the standard method, which calculates the measurement using a two-dimensional plane."

When using the Twitch app, gamers can now broadcast party chat, with users able to invite all those willing to take part in the discussion to include their audio. Moreover, the leader of the party can always mute another participant on both the Xbox One and Windows 10.

For the Xbox Accessories app on the PC, gamers get a new page that shows firmware version, battery status, and more details.

Xbox One also gets dedicated store for Xbox 360 titles

The same interface that´s currently used for the modern console can also be used for older titles and more backwards compatible video games are now offered for the platform.

The Xbox One firmware update also features an option to tweak the length of game DVR recordings as well as other features that have been previously tested by members of the Preview program.

At the moment, Microsoft is also running a big spring sale for its home console, which means that gamers can pick it up at a discount of 50 dollars if they get a bundle that features titles like The Division or the coming Quantum Break.

There are also promotions associated with video games, movies, and television content.

Microsoft has said that it will offer monthly firmware updates for the Xbox One to make sure that it adds new features and enhances integration with PCs and other devices that run Windows 10.

Phil Spencer, who leads the Xbox division, says that the company is committed to launching great titles for its platform and that there are no plans to implement another permanent price cut this year.
