Lenovo has made quite a show during Tech World 2016, where it has introduced the Moto Z and Moto Z Force. As for these devices, the company has announced that the former is the world’s thinnest premium handset that packs powerful specs and has added functionality with the MotoMods.

Indeed, Moto Z has a high chance of changing the smartphone game. Moto Z is just 5.2 millimeters thick and sports a full-metal body. Lenovo calls the devices “snapphones,” hinting at the fact that they come with modular technology in the form of MotoMods. It's worth noting that the Moto Z connects with MotoMods using the 16-pin data port on its back.

But aside from MotoMods, the handsets are quite impressive on their own. The Moto Z packs a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, 2.2GHz quad-core CPU, and 4GB of RAM. Moreover, it has an Adreno 530 GPU, optical image stabilization incorporated, as well as laser autofocus on its 13MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture.

Moto Z also boasts USB Type-C ports for connecting headphones, but it lacks the conventional 3.5" headphone jack. Lenovo has mentioned that the 2,600mAh battery on the Moto Z should provide up to 30 hours of battery life.

With the added Turbo Power feature, the device is bound to turn heads. It also comes with 32 or 64GB of storage with SD card expansion up to 2TB and a fingerprint scanner.

The Moto Z Force is truly a force to be reckoned with. It arrives with the same processor and GPU, but it features a 21MP camera on the back with f/1.8 aperture, shatterproof panel, and a 3,500mAh battery. Due to the higher capacity battery, the phone is thicker than the Z (7mm), but it still manages to be one of the thinnest smartphones out there.

Both devices will be available through Verizon this summer and will have the Droid branding on the back. The unlocked Moto Z should arrive on the market this fall, but Lenovo hasn’t mentioned anything about an unlocked Moto Z Force, despite the fact that it was truly the highlight of the event.
