BlackBerry has officially released the TCL-manufactured DTEK50, and pre-orders are now live in Europe. What’s interesting is that BlackBerry calls it the “world’s most secure Android smartphone,” explaining that the device comes with lots of security features to protect user information.

BlackBerry DTEK50 is the second Android offering from the company, after the BlackBerry Priv. It's worth knowing that it is actually a rebranded Alcatel Idol 4, with the added benefit of coming with enhanced security features. The Android smartphone sports a 5.2-inch 1080p scratch-resistant display, and it runs Android Marshmallow 6.0.

The handset incorporates a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. Then, there's a 13MP rear camera as well as a front camera of 8MP that also includes a flash for taking selfies. The device draws power from a 2,610mAh battery. Aside from this, it comes with 16GB of expandable internal storage and lots of security enhancements.

The DTEK50 comes with enhanced security, privacy, and productivity features, as the company states that it added a secure boot process and many other tools to make sure user information is protected.

The smartphone encrypts user data, like business data and personal files, including pictures, videos, and even contacts. What's more, the device comes with built-in malware protection, together with backup wipe and restore capabilities for data. Users will be notified which apps get access to their personal information, and BlackBerry promises to deliver security patches on the same day Google publicly releases them.

In addition, BlackBerry incorporates a DTEK50 app on the phone, which will monitor the OS and the applications running on the device and will also warn users when an app takes images without their knowledge or when it turns on the microphone or sends a message.

The phone also comes with a feature that protects private information like pictures or bank data, in case the phone or lost or stolen.
