Over the last couple of months, many smartphones have been tipped to include MediaTek's deca-core, but almost all of them ended up with older MediaTek chipsets or Qualcomm CPU.
Today, the first smartphone to pack MediaTek's Helio X20 deca-core processor has been officially introduced at MWC 2016. The device is called Zopo Speed 8 and many of you probably never heard of it.
Zopo is a Chinese company that launches few smartphones each year that is only available for purchase in the Mainland. We don't know how much the Speed 8 will cost and whether or not it will be available outside China.
Still, here are the main specs confirmed by Zopo. First of all, the smartphone will ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box, but expect some Zopo bloatware to come along as well.
Awesome cameras with dual-LED flash on both sides
The 64-bit deca-core MediaTek MT6797 Helio X20 processor built on 20nm architecture is coupled with a Mali-T880 MP4 graphics processing unit and 4GB of RAM. That's a really powerful hardware configuration that shows the Zopo Speed 8 is a true flagship.
There are 32GB of storage inside, but users can expand storage via microSD card slot. The Speed 8 sports a massive 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports Full HD (1080p) resolution.
Another major selling point of Zopo's top-tier smartphone is the 21-megapixel rear camera that features Sony's IMX230 sensor, f/2.2 aperture and dual-LED flash. There's also a secondary 8-megapixel camera in the front with OmniVisio OM8865 sensor, f/2.0 aperture and dual-LED flash.
Furthermore, Zopo Speed 8 is powered by a 3,600 mAh battery with fast charging technology. Also, it comes with 4G LTE support, fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port, NFC (Near Field Communication) and GPS with AGPS support.
