And it looks bad, perplexingly and unequivocally bad

To err is human, but there's only so many screw-ups guaranteed to turn you into a viral star. Doing your hair with builders' foam instead of mousse is one of them.

It happened to a woman who ended up in the hospital after attempting this unusual beauty trick, and whose photo is now making the rounds on social media.

It was this past Tuesday that the photo, available next to this article, started circulating. The woman is seen sitting in the waiting room of a hospital, a sad look on her face.

Of course, it's not the sorrow in her gaze that first catches the eye. It's the massive polyurethane foam helmet on her head that gets all the attention, and understandably so.

Especially since there are even some leaves and twigs stuck to it. Mind you, there's even some polyurethane foam on the woman's sweater.

How does something like this happen?

As mentioned, word has it the woman, supposedly from somewhere in Eastern Europe, fashioned the polyurethane helmet herself when she accidentally used builders' foam instead of mousse to try and style her hair.

However, there are also some who say that she didn't do this all by herself, but was tricked by someone looking to have some fun. Whatever happened, she most definitely dearly regrets the experience.

In constructions, builders' foam is used to stop leaks, fill gaps or hold items in place. Cans of builders' foam look very different from styling mousse, so it could be that somebody really played a trick on this unlucky lady.

Judging by how solid and perfectly formed the polyurethane foam helmet looks, it's safe to assume doctors had to give the woman a haircut to rid her of it.

She doesn't seem to be injured in any way so, once her hair grows back, she'll probably return to her usual routine. Hopefully, she'll pay closer attention to what she puts in her hair in the future.
