14 DAY TRIAL // Earlier this week, on Monday, a woman in Ohio, US, called 911 to complain about a Chinese food order. Apparently, the takeout failed to meet her expectations, and when the restaurant refused to offer her a refund, the woman thought the cops could get involved and help her get her money back.
“It's not up to par to me,” the woman told the emergency services operator who took her call. “I asked to get my money back and they acting like they don't understand me and they took my food,” she added, as cited by NY Daily News.
The 911 dispatcher who got to listen to the woman complain about her unsatisfactory Chinese food order says that, when she called the emergency line, 44-year-old Tracey McCloud of Alliance was clearly upset and determined to make the Main Moon Chinese Restaurant refund her money.
She kept going on and on about how it wasn't right for her to pay for the takeout, seeing how it was not what she expected, and demanded that law enforcement officers intervene and help her get her way.
The police didn't simply ignore the call
Contrary to what some might assume, police officers in the city of Alliance in Ohio, US, did not simply ignore the woman's plea. Au contraire, they actually took the time to pay 44-year-old Tracey McCloud a home visit.
However, when they got there, they did nothing to get the woman's money back from the Main Moon Chinese Restaurant. Instead, they arrested her and charged her with misuse of the emergency line.
Since this offense is merely a misdemeanor, the woman will probably not be imprisoned. Rather, she will most likely get away with just a fine, albeit a rather hefty one.
It is understood that Tracey McCloud will make an appearance in court to answer to the charge filed against her sometime this coming Friday. Let's hope she won't call the police to complain if things go wrong.
