Nokia will also unveil a redesigned Health Mate app

Nokia has just announced that it will relaunch all Withings connected health products under its own brand starting this summer. The Finnish company acquired Withings in April 2016, and since then it operated under Nokia Technologies' new Digital Health division, led by Withings' former CEO.

It appears that Nokia really wants a piece of the wearable devices market, and believes that its own brand is more popular than Withings. That might be true for the smartphone business, but Withings is well-known in the ecosystem of connected health products.

Be that as it may, starting this summer, all Withings products will be launched on the market under the Nokia brand. At the same time, Nokia has announced that it will launch a redesigned Health Mate application.

The redesigned Health Mate app will offer improved user experience, and it will make it easier to add devices, share progress with family member, and implement new in-depth training programs.

New connected health devices will be launched in June

These training programs are meant to propose users eight-week journeys, which should allow them to achieve a health goal, as well as customized experiences to better manage health.

According to Nokia, its new branded connected health devices will be available for purchase beginning summer 2017 via Nokia's website and retail channels including Amazon, Best Buy US, Best Buy Canada, Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, FNAC in France, Jogn Lewis in the UK, and Saturn in Germany.

Nokia is a powerful global brand that is synonymous with innovation, connectivity and great design. Withings joined Nokia because we share a vision to inspire individuals to take control of their own health.

With the full power of a brand recognized for trust, reliability and quality, we will reach more people and impact more lives to help the human family be healthier together,” said Cedric Hutchings, VP of Digital Health, Nokia.
