SanDisk expanded its mobile storage portfolio with a new wireless mobile flash drive, the SanDisk Wireless Stick. As the name suggests, it can be wirelessly accessed by mobile devices and computers.

Being based on the same tech as its smaller brothers, the new SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick features a higher capacity, up to 128GB, an updated app and a compact design.

Basically, what the device does is turn itself into a readily available storage space for any of your photos, videos or any other files that need sharing without having to actually plug it into a USB port. By upgrading the storage capacity, the new SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick will allow more data to be added on the fly compared to the older models.

The new SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick can connect with smartphones, tablets and computers. No matter where it's placed in your house, it can be accessed and data can be transferred on it. Videos, music and photos can be stream from the device, giving access to only three at a time. The SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick can support a single stream of up to 4.5 hours on a single charge. Connecting it to a USB port will help you save and transfer the files instantly.

You can lose it and still use it

With the stick, SanDisk will also provide the SanDisk Connect app, which will enable nearly effortless management of content between people’s favorite devices, think it as some sort of pairing, that will include iOS devices, Android devices, Fire tablets, Macs and PCs . All this Wi-Fi connectivity can be password-protected. The app can be bought through the AppStore, Google Play Store, Amazon Appstore and Android, Windows Store evidently missing. The app will help you auto-back up photos and videos from the camera roll to the drive.

Some people, however, might not find these storage capacity limits satisfactory as 128GB could not be quite enough when used on a daily basis. AirStash, for instance, is a wireless USB platform that uses SD card slots in order upgrade its capacity to up to 2TB of storage space. Still, it's true that the SD card will cost users more than the actual flash drive, it offers a larger storage flexibility than the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick. Nonetheless, the new stick from SanDisk comes in a more compact and reliable form factor, making it easier to sell.

The SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick features one-year warranty and is now available at Amazon, BestBuy.com and SanDisk.com in capacities of 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB at U.S. MSRPs ranging from $30 (€ 27) to $100 (€ 90).
