14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft is working to bring several new devices with Windows 10 Mobile to the market, and since some will be flagships, several innovative features are very likely to be offered.
Some sources indicated that iris scanners and other advanced technology could be part of the next Windows 10 Mobile Microsoft flagship, but now it turns out that support for 3D displays is also considered.
Information posted on Microsoft MSDN page and spotted by WMPU reveals that stereoscopic 3D displays will be supported in Windows 10 Mobile, and while this isn’t a sign that Microsoft will indeed create such a device, it’s still living proof that manufacturers who’ll want to launch phones featuring this kind of screens can do so with the new mobile OS.
On the other hand, Microsoft could also develop a new way to connect Windows 10 Mobile devices to 3D displays with a regular USB cable, which could thus make Hololens and Continuum for phones, the new goodies that the company presented earlier this year, key parts of its own mobile revolution.
Windows 10 Mobile coming later this year
As far as Windows 10 Mobile is concerned, work continues these days on the new OS, and Microsoft says that, when the PC version comes out, the company can finally focus more on the development of the smartphone sibling. More engineers would thus be transferred to the mobile platform, so expect significant changes to be part of preview builds starting this month.
The launch date of Windows 10 Mobile is rumored for September and October, but the rollout will take place in the same painful way that brought us Lumia firmware updates. Carriers will have to test the new OS version on their own devices before Windows 10 Mobile is shipped to users, and sometimes this could take longer than anyone would expect.
