DailyMotion and Adobe continue to support WP

They say Windows Phone is dead and everyone should start considering the switch to Android and iOS, but there’s no doubt that Microsoft’s platform has one very loyal user base, so it’s hard to believe that everyone’s jumping ship so fast.

And some third-party software companies seem to know this very well, so they continue their investments in Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile, as they too expect only a few people to migrate to rival platforms amid the recent criticism.

DailyMotion universal app

For example, DailyMotion has just announced its brand new universal app designed to work on both Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile and coming with features that allow users on these platforms to fully experience the YouTube rival.

The new app comes with a fresh design, drag and drop support to easily upload your videos to DailyMotion, and account creation features so you can become a registered member straight from within the app, Cortana integration to perform voice searching on the site. Also worth mentioning is picture-in-picture to browse categories while you watch a video, as well as support for streaming to bigger screens.

New Adobe Acrobat Reader version

At the same time, Adobe has also updated the Acrobat Reader app on Windows Phone, even though the company has rarely improved its applications on the platform. So it’s a little surprising to see such an important update going live following the latest criticism, but it could be living proof that Microsoft’s mobile operating system is not doomed yet, and devs still want to keep their apps updated.

This Adobe Acrobat Reader version comes with the possibility of logging into Adobe Document Cloud with support for enterprise ID while also bringing a save as feature for PDF files. And, of course, the most striking change is the addition of a new interface that makes the app a little bit more eye-candy, bringing it in line with the updates that the platform is receiving these days.

In the end, it’s very clear that Windows Phone is here to stay, and not only is Microsoft very keen on keeping it alive, but developers also seem to show at least the same level of interest as before in updating their apps for the platform.
