Samsung is preparing an update for the Flow app that would integrate new functionality for those owning wearables manufactured by the company, including options to unlock Windows 10 PCs with smartwatches running Tizen 3.

The new version of the Flow app for Android is 3.0.14 and it adds support for the Gear S3 and the Gear Sport to unlock Windows 10 PCs and sync notifications.

Furthermore, Samsung will offer Galaxy phone owners tools to mirror phone screens on linked computers running Windows 10 with new features based on Smart View.

Samsung Flow requires Windows 10 Creators Update (version 1703) or newer and needs at least build 15063.413 to be running on the Galaxy TabPro S and the Galaxy Book. It supports Android Marshmallow or newer, and in terms of smartwatches, only Tizen 3.0 models or later are compatible.

Users who are already running the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update can run Samsung Flow app on their devices just fine.

Improved experience in the latest versions

The Samsung Flow app for Windows 10 has been received with mixed reactions from Microsoft’s users, as many complained of a buggy experience offered by the first versions. The app currently has a 2.9 rating in the Microsoft Store, with no less than 80 1-star entries and only 60 people who offered the maximum 5-star score.

The most recent releases, however, addressed much of the criticism and both features and usability have been substantially improved. Synchronization now works much smoother between Windows 10 on Samsung PCs and other Samsung devices, and this new update is expected to boost the app’s rating in app stores.

You can download the new Samsung Flow APK from Softpedia right now to get all these features for your devices as well. The Microsoft Store version for Windows 10 PCs can be found here.
