Microsoft says that Windows 10 is finally ready for the enterprise market with the release of Threshold 2, and as part of the effort to make the OS available for this particular customer category, the company has just posted the dedicated ISOs on VLSC.

As WindowsITPro writes, enterprises that get Windows 10 Threshold 2 from the Volume Licensing Center will be allowed to clean install the operating system and experience the new features that are specifically part of this update.

In a post published last week, Terry Myerson, head of the operating system group at Microsoft, explained that Windows 10 Threshold 2 also marks “the renaissance of the enterprise PC” because it not only supports older technology but also adds new ones.

“Our IT Pros know they can offer more. With this first major update to Windows 10, we’re empowering them to do so—with the first platform which spans all device types, enables management of both corporate owned and BYOD, and upgrades existing devices. Windows 10 is already actively running on more than 110 million devices including 12 million business PCs, and is compatible with the past while embracing our new way of working,” Myerson wrote.

Windows Update for Business

The best example of Microsoft's commitment to the enterprise market is the introduction of Windows Update for Business, a feature that allows users to defer updates for up to 8 months.

This is particularly helpful because enterprise customers need full control over the updates that are delivered to computers in their organizations, especially because some of the patches released recently are actually doing more harm than good.

The enterprise market is what could significantly boost Windows 10 adoption in the coming months, with Microsoft having a goal of 1 billion devices running the new OS version by 2017.

Right now, there are approximately 110 million devices already powered by Windows 10, and figures are expected to grow at a faster pace as enterprises join the upgrade bandwagon.
