Microsoft’s April 2018 Patch Tuesday includes not only security updates for the existing Windows 10 versions, but also for the one that’s just around the corner and which we all refer to as Spring Creators Update.

While at first glance it might not make a lot of sense to ship a cumulative update for a Windows 10 version that’s not yet available, KB4100375 is specifically supposed to refine the experience with the Spring Creators Update ahead of the public launch projected to happen sometime this month.

In other words, cumulative update KB4100375 is only aimed at Windows insiders who have already installed build 17133, which is believed to be the RTM version of the upcoming OS feature release.

This particular build is currently available for insiders in the Fast, Slow, and Release Preview rings, which means that pretty much everyone in the Windows Insider program should already be running the RTM build.

What’s new in cumulative update KB4100375?

As to what cumulative update KB4100375 brings new to the table, the first thing you’ll notice is that it bumps the OS build to 17133.73. To verify the version, just press Win key + R and type winver.

The update comes with three different changes and no new feature updates, including a fix for a PDF security issue in Microsoft Edge. Then, it fixes a problem that prevented Internet Explorer from identifying custom controls.

And since it’s Patch Tuesday, cumulative update KB4100375 also comes with security updates for apps and Windows 10 modules, including Edge browser, Internet Explorer, the Windows kernel, and the Microsoft graphics component.

Insiders are obviously recommended to install this cumulative update as soon as possible because Microsoft needs feedback on how everything runs. There’s still no word as to when the Spring Creators Update could go live for everyone, but it shouldn’t take too long before this happens.
