These options were initially available in preview builds

Microsoft has finally rolled out some eagerly anticipated options for Windows 10 RTM users, allowing them to configure a dark theme in the Mail app and switch to colored title bars instead of the classic boring gray ones.

These features were previously tested by Microsoft in Windows 10 preview builds, but it turns out that everything went smoothly, so RTM users are ready to get them too, which is an indication that no major bug has been found.

What's more, the Mail app also comes with some other subtle tweaks, including links that use the Windows 10 accent color, which you can manually change from the Personalization screen.

Lots of improvements to preview builds

Microsoft has updated the Mail app nearly 10 times since the debut of the first post-RTM preview build of Windows 10, but every time, the company shipped the new versions without any change logs, a decision that caused frustration among testers who wanted to know what they brought new.

Most likely, the company was testing optimizations and improvements that are now ready for RTM users too, as this is the exact purpose of the insider program: test features before they are provided to consumers.

“This collaboration with Insiders is invaluable to our team, and we continue to welcome anyone who wants to work with us on the future of Windows 10,” Windows boss Terry Myerson has recently said.

Overall, the addition of a black theme in the Mail app brings it in line with the rest of the operating system, which has also got a dark visual style too, so make sure you have a look in the Windows Store to download it right away.

Microsoft has already announced several other significant app updates, so expect more such improvements to land in the coming weeks, ahead of the first major Windows 10 update release.
