With Windows 10 Spring Creators Update (codenamed Redstone 4) just around the corner, Microsoft is getting ready to switch the focus to the next feature release for its operating system that’s expected to see daylight in the fall.

Called Redstone 5, this new update is already in preview for users in the Skip Ahead ring, and it comes with early implementations of several new features.

In addition to Sets, which brings tabs all across the operating system, the latest build of Redstone 5 also includes what appears to be support for stickers in the Windows 10 touch keyboard, as discovered by Twitter user Lucas (@tfwboredom) recently.

A Microsoft Store link that includes a reference to a new collection called “Windows Stickers” doesn’t seem to point users to any new content just yet, but there’s a chance the link would be enabled at a later time when the feature becomes available for users. Furthermore, there’s also a second string called "Get stickers from cloud (This will send your keyboard input to Microsoft)" in the latest Insider preview build.

Stickers in Windows 10 will add a new option to the touch keyboard, which itself has received plenty of improvements lately, including for the Spring Creators Update.

The touch keyboard is available on devices with touchscreens, such as Windows 10, but it can also be launched on PCs where hardware keyboards are already available.

The touch keyboard has evolved a lot in the last few months and in addition to substantially improved emoji support, it also comes with multilingual text prediction, a feature that Microsoft is also offering on mobile devices with SwiftKey.

Windows 10 Redstone 5 is projected to launch in the fall and more information on stickers is likely to be offered as part of the Insider program when the feature is ready for testing. Work on Redstone 5 should start advancing at a faster pace once the Spring Creators Update launches this week.
