Microsoft is yet to officially announce the name of the Redstone 4 update, but as it turns out, the company has already decided how it’s going to call it.

Twitter user @h0x0d has discovered new evidence that Windows 10 version 1803 will launch as Spring Creators Update, a name that Microsoft itself teased a few weeks ago as part quests included in the Bug Bash for Windows insiders.

The Spring Creators Update is included by the software giant in the output of PowerShell command Get-VMHostSupportedVersion on Windows 10 Redstone 5 build 17618.

RTM to be compiled this month

Windows 10 Redstone 4 is projected to be finalized as soon as this month, while users in the production ring are projected to receive it in March.

This means that the Spring Creators Update RTM will be shipped to users in the Insider program first, an approach that Microsoft used for the previous updates as well and which is likely to continue with Redstone 4. Users who aren’t part of the testing program will get the final bits in April at a date that Microsoft is yet to announce.

Windows 10 Spring Creators Update will debut as version 1803, and this number is a direct reference to the launch date. The first two digits represent the launch year, in this case 2018, while the other two indicate the month. In other words, 1803 means that Windows 10 Redstone 4 will be finalized in March 2018 for insiders.

It remains to be seen when Microsoft officially announces the name of the Redstone 4 update, but for the time being, the company is busy giving the finishing touches to the update before compiling RTM. RS4 is already feature-locked and the focus is exclusively on fixing bugs and refining performance across the OS.
