14 DAY TRIAL // As announced a few days ago, Xiaomi released the highly anticipated Windows 10 Mobile ROM for its popular Mi4 smartphone.
Initially available to a limited number of Xiaomi Mi4 users, the new ROM is now available to anyone who wants to flash Windows 10 Mobile on their Mi4 smartphone.
As always, there's a catch. According to the Chinese company, this Windows 10 Mobile ROM is only compatible with the LTE version of Xiaomi Mi4, so if you own the 3G model, you will have to wait a while longer.
Even though Xiaomi confirmed that a Windows 10 Mobile ROM would be released for Mi4 3G, it did not offer an ETA for that, so stay tuned for more on this one.
If you're already determined to flash Windows 10 Mobile on your Mi4, then you should know that Xiaomi states that there may still be some bugs that might have been missed during beta testing, so you should think twice before installing this ROM.
But the most important thing you need before attempting to install Windows 10 Mobile on your smartphone is the ROM released by Xiaomi. You can now download it via Xiaomi's official forum.
Alternatively, Xiaomi Mi4 owners can get this ROM, as well as the detailed tutorial for flashing it by registering in the Microsoft Insider program.
You can always go back to Android by flashing the MIUI
Last not least, if you are not pleased with Microsoft's work on Windows 10 Mobile for the Mi4, you can always go back to Android by flashing the MIUI on your smartphone.
It's unclear for the moment whether or not those who flash the Windows 10 Mobile ROM provided by Xiaomi will have access to preview builds released by Microsoft.
The good news is you will benefit from all other features and services offered by Windows 10 Mobile and you will also be able to access Windows Store.
