Users will now get to type in a challenge phrase

With each new Windows 10 Mobile technical preview build, Microsoft's upcoming operating system becomes better and better.

New features and improvements are added almost on a weekly basis, so it's pretty hard to keep track of all that Microsoft includes in each build, especially if they are released often.

One of the new features introduced in Windows 10 Mobile saves users a lot of time and headaches, as reported by Neowin.

It looks like Microsoft has added a tweak to the way users interact with Lumia smartphones when they want to enter the passcode.

Everyone knows that when you enter a wrong passcode on a Windows Phone, you will be locked out for a few seconds until you can try again.

The timing increases exponentially, so if you don't get the passcode right from a reasonable number of tries, you might have to wait days until you can try again.

However, this is not the case anymore with Windows 10 Mobile since Microsoft introduced a new feature that will allow users to skip the waiting altogether.

Windows 10 Mobile allows you to enter your passcode four times in a row if you get it wrong. After 4 incorrect login attempts, you will now be asked to type in a challenge phrase (A1B2C3) before you can try again.

No hard reset needed anymore

After introducing the challenge phrase correctly, you will have one more try to enter the correct passcode. If you fail, your phone will lock itself and will require a restart.

Those who can't remember the passcode will then be able to change the PIN by simply using their Microsoft Account, so they won't need to hard reset anymore.

That's clearly a much easier process than having to wait for hours or factory reset your smartphone because someone changed your passcode or you simply forgot it.
