We’re seeing more and more details pop up about Microsoft’s upcoming platform, Windows 10 Mobile, as we get closer and closer to the date when the desktop version of the operating system is set to be unveiled on July 29.

The next tidbit we are going to share with you has to do with downloading apps over cellular data. As you might as well know, most mobile platforms put up a limit when it comes to downloading applications via cellular internet.

That’s because some apps are pretty big and the result might be a huge burner through your data cap. Still, there are those taking advantage of unlimited data plans, and Windows 10 might be able to cater to their needs too.

Windows 10 Mobile to bestow total cellular download freedom

The folks at Windows Central have discovered that, in the latest build of Windows 10 Mobile (build 10149), Microsoft has removed the cellular data cap for downloads from the Store.

So they devised an experiment which entailed downloading the 857.7MB heavy Asphalt 8 game on their phone. The result? The app downloaded seamlessly without any restriction involved.

Sure, for the time being, we can’t say for certain whether Microsoft simply forgot to turn the data cap on or if the restrictions will be left out of the operating system for good.

If this scenario happens, it will certainly come in handy for users with unlimited data plans or even those on a limited data plan who need to download an application fast in case of crisis. Or maybe for those who want to use their remaining data at the end of the month.

New feats prepared for Windows 10 Mobile

Recently, it was revealed that Microsoft was looking to bake a whole suite of new features in Windows 10 Mobile, something that will hopefully help it better compete with alternate mobile OSes like Android and iOS.

For example, we just told you that Windows 10 Mobile might come with a front camera tracking feature, which would help detect the face of the person you’re trying to take a photo of and keep the focus on it.

We also revealed that in the latest Technical Preview build of Windows 10 Mobile, there’s a native app that will supposedly bring about a long requested feature, the ability to record phone calls.
