Redmond said to accelerate Creators Update rollout

Microsoft started the Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update rollout on April 25, and just like announced, it all takes place in stages, so not everyone received it on day 1.

On the other hand, only a few people actually got the Creators Update for their phones until now, and this obviously led to more criticism against Microsoft, only a few weeks after the company angered its most loyal mobile fans by restricting the new OS version to only a bunch of devices.

It appears that Microsoft has, however, accelerated the Creators Update rollout, with new reports revealing that more Windows 10 Mobile devices are getting it these days. Carrier-locked and factory unlocked Windows phones are both getting the Creators Update as we speak, though it’s important to know that availability still depends on a number of factors, including region.

Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update is only available for 13 Windows phones, and the full list is available at the end of the article.

Phones left behind because of user feedback

The controversial decision was also received with criticism by the Windows community, especially because some of the devices that were left behind, including here Lumia 930 and the Lumia 1520, which were both flagships when they were launched, were running preview builds of the Creators Update quite smoothly as part of the Insider program.

Microsoft, on the other hand, says it received feedback which indicated that only these phones should receive the Creators Update and because it wants to provide users with the best possible experience, it blocked many of the Windows phones in use today.

The Windows 10 Mobile devices getting the Creators Update are the following (note that unsupported devices can install the new OS version as part of the Windows Insider program by enrolling in the Release Preview ring):
