Mobile users in the Fast ring getting a fresh build too

Windows 10 Mobile users are getting a new build as part of the Windows Insider program, in anticipation of the Creators Update due in April.

Build 15047 is available for users in the Fast ring and previews the Creators Update, coming with bug fixes and performance improvements exclusively.

Windows 10 Mobile build 15047 does not include any new features and there’s a good reason for that: the Creators Update has already reached the final development stages and is currently feature-locked, and this means that Microsoft is no longer working on new features, but only on improving the existing ones and fixing the latest bugs before the public release.

With this build, Microsoft is finally fixing Microsoft Wallet, making it possible once again to add a new card and to pay with an existing card in the application. Additionally, the company is introducing a fix causing the Data Usage page in Settings not to display all info about cellular data page.

Just one known issue

On the good side, there’s just a single known issue, with Microsoft explaining that speech packs may be unable to download on this build.

Just like the PC sibling, Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update is expected to land in April, with the RTM build to be compiled and shipped to insiders later this month.

Microsoft has often been criticized for not syncing Windows 10 Mobile improvements with Windows 10 for PC, but smartphones are getting tons of new features in the Creators Update anyway. Microsoft Edge, for example, will receive support for eBook, as Microsoft is pushing it beyond the browser world with eBook reading capabilities.

There are also emoji improvements, as well as updates for the built-in apps, so the Creators Update will definitely be worth installing for Windows 10 Mobile users. More builds, however, are likely to go live in the coming days and weeks before the RTM is compiled, once again with the focus on bug fixes.
