As we’ve already told you, Microsoft is expected to release a new Windows 10 Mobile build sometime this week, and a new report claims that the company could push the “red” button as soon as today.

MSMobile.pl writes that Microsoft is now giving the final touches to Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.164 and participants in the Windows Insider program are expected to receive it later today. Users enrolled in the slow and release preview rings are likely to get this new cumulative update, the source says, just like it was the case with 10586.122.

This new build is likely to be mostly focused on fixing bugs and improving overall performance of the operating system, so do not expect any new features or changes after installing it. Microsoft is still hard at work to make Windows 10 Mobile ready for the final release and build .164 is another important goal towards this key moment. Furthermore, Microsoft might be using this build to test the upgrade from Windows Phone to Windows 10 Mobile, as it wants the transition for all Lumia devices to run smoothly.

Windows 10 Mobile coming this month

While Microsoft has not provided any information regarding the release date of Windows 10 Mobile, it’s been reported that the company is aiming to launch the new operating system as soon as this month.

Rumor has it that the software giant sent emails to partners to prepare for the launch of Windows 10 Mobile, as a number of carriers that have already completed testing of the operating system are waiting for Microsoft’s go-ahead in this regard.

Undoubtedly, there are a lot of uncertain details right now and nobody can tell for sure if Microsoft will indeed roll out Windows 10 Mobile this month, but these cumulative updates could help pave the road for its launch.
