Microsoft has finally pushed this build for the slow track

While everyone's waiting for a new PC build ahead of the eagerly anticipated RTM, Microsoft took some time to complete work on Windows 10 Mobile build 10149, which is now available for slow ring insiders too.

This particular build was officially released by Microsoft to Windows Insiders enrolled in the fast channel last week, but the company has now made it available for everyone participating in the program, which means that most of the bugs have been fixed and more a stable experience is likely to be provided.

A list of the bugs that were confirmed in the original release can be found after the jump, but it's not yet clear how many of them have actually been fixed now that the build is available for slow ring users too.

What's new in build 10149

Windows 10 Mobile build 10149 comes with Microsoft Edge, as this is the first version of the insider preview that was released after the company completed the rebranding process of Project Spartan. Options to view websites in mobile view or desktop view are also offered.

Cortana has also been significantly improved in this version, and so has been the UI of the operating system, with the Start screen now looking more polished and refined.

There's also a new flashlight quick action that lets you quickly turn on and off the torch (no more third-party apps required), but also a redesigned Photos app that's expected to work better on phones with at least 1GB of RAM. GIF support is also available.

Windows 10 build 10149 is available via the Windows Insider app that you need to be running on your Windows Phone device, and starting today, you can get it through any of the available slow or ring channels. Microsoft recommends you to avoid installing pre-release software on your main phone, so think twice before deploying Windows 10 Mobile preview.
