Microsoft has just released a new Windows 10 Mobile build, and just like the previous versions that were pushed to Fast ring Windows Insiders, this one still has some issues that need to be ironed out by the Redmond-based company.

But first let's see what bug fixes Microsoft delivered in Windows 10 Mobile build 10149 that is now making its way to Windows Insiders.

Well, first of all, Microsoft confirmed it has fixed the issue reported for the first time with build 10051 where Call + SMS filtering would not work after the upgrade.

Also, an issue where text notifications weren't appearing for incoming messages has been addressed as well, along with an issue where the Podcast application would not work.

Microsoft also fixed some issues where apps were having trouble installing or updating via the Store Beta. Last but not least, an issue where the navigation bar couldn't be hidden has been resolved as well.

But with every technical previous, some known issues remain to be fixed in future build. Microsoft has already confirmed some of them, but you might find others.

Lots of known issues remain to be addressed in future builds

For example, some Windows Insiders may encounter an 80091007 error trying to upgrade to this build from 10136. If you receive this error, then you should wait for a fix from Microsoft.

The Insider Hub has been removed in this build, but it will be back in future builds. Another known issue in regards with Gmail might give your troubles if an account is set up on the phone, as the Messaging app may have issues and both incoming and outgoing messages might not work.

According to Microsoft, in order to solve this issue you should reboot the phone to get it to work again. Developers are already aware that the Messaging app may behave badly in this state, so they will fix it in future builds.

Furthermore, sometimes the PIN keypad won't be shown after swiping up to unlock. The only way to fix this is to swipe down to get to Action Center and try to open a notification or Settings to invoke the PIN keypad to unlock the phone.

Microsoft also mentions a very rare situation where users are unable to unlock their phones after entering their PIN and it keeps letting them type even though they have already entered their PIN correctly.

It looks like the only workaround is to leave the phone for like 1-2 hours before trying to unlock again. According to Microsoft, the issue is caused by a TPM problem that could get worse and require users to reflash if they get into this state and power off the phone.

There's also another known issue where apps or game are installed as trial versions even though users have already purchased them. In-app purchases on Windows 10 Mobile are not yet enabled as Microsoft migrates the function to the new Windows Store.

Build 10149 is the more stable and faster from all technical preview versions

Moreover, there might be some cases where notifications in Action Center show up as blank. Last but not least, in certain situations, the colors in some apps may appear off, like the titlebar in the Outlook Mail app that may appear orange.

Even with all these known issues mentioned earlier, Microsoft claims that Windows 10 Mobile build 10149 “is faster, more stable, and more polished overall and has been lots of fun for us to see come together.”

If you're a Windows Insider that opted for Fast ring, then you should go ahead and give the new build a spin and let us know in the comments what you think.
