Windows 10 is coming on July 29, and since it’s a completely new operating system that Microsoft expects to become a hit, the company is working together with partners to prepare customers of all experience levels to get to know its features from the very beginning.

Lenovo is one of the first companies that make a step in this direction, so today it has rolled out a help guide to provide us with more information on the new Windows 10.

The PDF guide, which you can download here (PDF reader needed), includes the necessary information for setting up your brand new Lenovo device running Windows 10 and assists users as they get to meet the Windows 10 desktop for the very first time.

“State-of-the-art operating system”

Since it’s a Microsoft partner, Lenovo also praises Windows 10 in this help guide, calling it a “state-of-the-art operating system,” and saying that the company “is glad to provide computer products with Windows 10 preinstalled.”

“We have provided this publication to get you up and running with Windows 10. Once you feel more confident with the basics, you may refer to information provided by Microsoft to explore more advanced features of Windows 10. If there are conflicts between information provided by Lenovo and Microsoft regarding Windows 10, the information provided by Microsoft prevails,” Lenovo says.

Windows 10 comes with several changes supposed to make the desktop more familiar for users with a mouse and keyboard, but also with features that have long been requested by Microsoft users.

In addition to the Start menu, which is finally brought back in Windows, the new operating system also features support for Cortana, the personal assistant previously available exclusively on Windows Phone, but also with multiple desktops and a new browser, which will replace Internet Explorer on PCs, tablets, and smartphones.

Features such as extension support in the default browser would also be added at a later time with an update, Microsoft said, but specific timing for this release is yet to be provided.
